the local area

The cottage is situated on the beautiful Alde estuary and is within easy access to the heritage coastline. From the rare beauty of Shingle Street in the south, through to bustling Southwold in the north, this stretch of the Suffolk coast offers so much to enjoy. Visit the village of Orford and the pretty towns of Aldeburgh and Walberswick, or take a trip to RSPB Minsmere. Maybe head inland to Framlingham castle or Sutton Hoo, or just browse in one of the local antique centres.

Just a ten-minute walk from the cottage is the Snape Maltings complex which offers a world-class concert venue as well as shops, cafes and galleries with a wealth of activities including music, farmers’ markets, crafts and day courses.

We've had a very relaxing and comfortable 4-day break in the beautiful no3rosetree cottage. Super walks around the estuary and, of course, Snape Maltings is well worth a visit. Already looking forward to coming back.
